FAQ

How do I join?

To add your child to our waiting list for the Parent & Toddler, Pre-School or a Beginner class please complete this form. Once a space opens in a suitable class, we will contact you offering a space with start date.

For those with previous experience for a space in a competitive group please email meadowbankgc@gmail.com to enquire regarding a trial.

What classes do you offer?

At present we offer classes from Parent & Toddler (walking to 3 years), Pre-School (3 years to starting school), Beginner (p1+) up to and including competitive Women’s & Men’s Artistic. Our ages range from walking to 18 years!

How much are fees or a block of classes?

To view our current fee list please click here. Our classes run all year round (except for 2 weeks at Christmas & New Year) and fees are paid monthly by Direct Debit. We work on a 48-week year spread out over the 12 months. The extra 2 weeks cover any cancellations of classes due to unforeseen circumstances.

Can I do pay as you go?

All fees are paid monthly as our classes run all year round instead of by blocks or pre-booking pay-as-you-go.

Do I need to stay with my child when they are at class?

Parents with children in pre-school class need to stay on site while the class is on but parents for all other classes can leave and return for the collection.

What should my child wear?

Comfortable sports clothing is perfect for the first few sessions until you know your child will like the class. We can then give you information about specific gymnastic clothing and equipment.

Do classes run over the school holidays?

All classes are scheduled to run as normal over each of the school holidays except for 2 weeks at Christmas & New Year when the facility is closed. Should any classes be off due to Coach holiday or illness this is communicated to you via our Administration system.

Do you offer camps during the holidays?

We aim to offer a mixture of camps for both recreational and competitive gymnasts during the Midlothian School holidays (dependant on Coach availability). Details of these are communicated via our Administration system.

Please note that we do on occasion offer spaces to non-members which will be advertised on our Social Media accounts.

Do we need a membership to the club?

Upon joining all gymnasts are required to become members of British Gymnastics which as well having benefits and discounts at attractions, is also your child’s insurance whilst in the gym. Each gymnast’s first 2 sessions are covered under the Club’s membership, after this they are required to have individual membership. This is an annual membership which runs from September to August and full payment is required at the time of joining.

Parents/carers complete the registration and make payment by logging onto BG directly via the link below:

Should I let you know if my child will be off?

We appreciate if you are able to advise your child will be absent from class, especially if this will be for more than 3 weeks so coaches can plan or pass on any work that they will miss whilst being off.

When can I see my child working in class?

There is a small window at the entrance which you can observe through at anytime during their class. We will also be inviting parents into the gym itself once a school term to view their class.

My child wishes to move to a harder class or do more hours, when will this be?

Gymnasts who are in our Beginner classes work through our progressive Recreational Program. Gymnasts work on various skills to complete levels and earn stickers in their own Badge Book. Once a gymnast reaches a given level they will be moved to the most suitable class available.

Do you offer classes for Adults?

There is an Adult Class run from our facility by our friends at Saltire Gymnastics on a Friday evening 6.00-9.00pm. For more information and to book please click here to access their site.
